Birthday Party Venues in Mitcham

Choosing the Right Birthday Party Venue

Mitcham has two birthday venues a short way apart. Mitcham Social is a restaurant and bar on Thornton Crescent, off Rooks Road, and Mitcham Hotel is a pub on Maroondah Highway.

Both cater for a crowd, but they feel quite different on the night.

How the two Mitcham venues differ:

Room style: Mitcham Social sections off part of its venue with bollards and fencing, while the pub keeps a separate upstairs room with a private bar and toilets.
Size: the Social's Event Space takes up to 300 with mixed seating, and the pub's Loft holds 110 for cocktails or 50 seated.
Games: the Social has pool, pinball and a claw machine, and the Loft has a pool table of its own.
Food: Mitcham Social offers a pizza party, canapés or a three-course menu From $38 per person, with no room hire fee.
Seated menu: Mitcham Hotel's two-course function menu is From $45 per person for 20 or more.

The pub has direct access to Mitcham railway station and parking for more than 200 cars.

Butterfly murals, long timber tables, a fireplace and a wood-fired pizza oven fill the high-ceilinged brick room.
Functions start at 30 guests, and smaller groups book a table as normal.
The covered beer garden has heaters and two 85-inch TVs, and holds 120 in full.
Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options run through every menu.

Upstairs at the Mitcham Hotel

Moody walls and party lighting under a tall ceiling set the Loft's tone.
A projector, wireless microphone and Bluetooth connection are in the room.
There's no lift to the Loft, so older guests face a flight of stairs.
Fireside, beside the bistro, suits a semi-private seated dinner with its own beer garden.
