About Mitcham Social
Mitcham Social is a neighbourhood restaurant and bar on Thornton Crescent in Mitcham, set in a high-ceilinged brick building off Rooks Road. Inside you'll find butterfly murals, long timber tables, a fireplace, a wood-fired pizza oven and a games room with pool, pinball and a claw machine. Functions start at 30 guests, and the team sections off part of the venue with bollards and fencing rather than charging for a separate room. There is no room hire fee; you pay for the package your group chooses. The main function area is the Event Space, which can be shaped to the size of the group and takes up to 200 seated or 300 with a mix of seating and standing. Smaller groups can take the Cocktail Area beside the bar (30 standing, 20 seated) or the Butterfly Couches, a long banquette along the restaurant wall for 20 seated. Out the back, the beer garden has awnings, heaters and two 85-inch TVs. Either half holds 60 with some seating, and the whole garden takes 120. Packages cover most styles of party. The Pizza Party is a three-hour standing event with share platters and wood-fired pizzas, the Canapé Package adds staff-served canapés and grazing dishes with custom signage and menus, and the three-course set menu suits a sit-down dinner. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options run through the menus, and a projector screen is on hand for speeches or presentations. Groups under 30 book a table as normal; for anything larger, send an enquiry to book.
