About Sound Experience
Sound Experience is a bayside Melbourne audio visual production house run by Andy Simpson and a small crew with around 25 years in events. The business is built around Funktion-One sound, and it keeps one of the widest selections of those speakers in the country, alongside QSC, Pioneer, Allen & Heath and Shure equipment. There are two ways to hire. Dry hire means you pick the gear with the team's help, pick it up from the Moorabbin warehouse, operate it on the night and return it afterwards. If you would rather not lift a speaker, the crew delivers, installs and tests everything before guests arrive, then returns to pull it down and take it away. Bigger jobs move into full production, where the team designs the sound and lighting, operates it on the night and removes it afterwards. The hire list covers speakers of every size, DJ decks and turntables, lighting, lasers, smoke and haze, truss, staging, live band equipment, generators, LED screens and marquees, and they have even been known to bring a snow machine. Past work ranges from a house party for fifty friends to a festival stage for 20,000, plus weddings, restaurant birthday celebrations and product launches. All staff hold Working With Children checks, and the business carries $20 million public liability cover. Get in touch with your date, venue and guest numbers and the team will put together a setup and quote that suits the event and the budget.

Frequently asked questions
Can I collect the equipment myself instead of paying for delivery?
Yes. Dry hire means you choose the gear with the team's advice, pick it up from the Moorabbin warehouse, install and operate it yourself, then drop it back.
Will Sound Experience set up and run the sound at my party?
Yes. If you are short on time or vehicle space, the crew delivers, installs and tests the system before the event, and can come back to pack it down and collect it.
What can I hire apart from speakers?
The range includes DJ decks, lighting, lasers, smoke machines, truss, staging, live band equipment, generators, LED screens and marquees, so most of an event's technical needs can come from one place.
Is Sound Experience only for big festivals?
No. The team works on everything from a house party for about fifty guests or a backyard wedding to large festival stages, and sizes the system to the space.
Is the crew insured?
Sound Experience carries $20 million public liability and $2 million professional indemnity insurance, and every staff member holds a Working With Children check.
