About Melbourne Light Rentals
Melbourne Light Rentals is a lighting hire company based on Bell Street in Preston. Alongside its film and photography gear, it runs ready-made lighting and sound packages for birthdays, house parties, engagements, weddings and corporate functions. The party packages come in three steps. Party Starter pairs a Chauvet GigBAR Move ILS – moving heads, derby effects and wash lights in one bar – with a haze machine, while Club adds a Phoenix 250 laser for aerial beams and the third set builds on that again. Each can be booked with two JBL EON715 Bluetooth PA speakers, and the starter set with sound suits roughly 100 guests. For weddings, the Essential, Signature and Grand sets light the room with wireless battery uplights, up to 36 in the Grand set. Colours can match the wedding palette, including warm white. The sound versions add JBL speakers, a Mackie mixer and a Shure dual wireless microphone kit for the ceremony and speeches. Smaller items hire on their own too: a two-speaker JBL system with stands and mixer, festoon strings and telescopic poles, uplights, a laser, gobo projectors and smoke or haze machines. Hirers can collect from Preston, or book delivery, set-up and pack-away anywhere in Melbourne. Send an enquiry with the date and venue to check availability.

Equipment & Service Details
Equipment must stay where it was installed and be protected from the weather, and it is the hirer's responsibility until collected. Collected gear is due back by midday the day after, and a 20% deposit secures the booking.

What is in the cheapest party lighting package?
Party Starter Lighting is $275 and includes a Chauvet GigBAR Move ILS, which combines moving heads, derby effects and wash lights, plus a haze machine and all the power cables needed to run them.
Can sound be added to a lighting package?
Yes. Each party package has a lighting and sound version that adds two JBL EON715 Bluetooth PA speakers, from $440 for the starter set. An 18-inch JBL powered subwoofer can be added for $50 plus GST.
How many uplights come with the wedding packages?
The Grand Wedding Lighting package uses 36 wireless battery uplights in a choice of nine colours, including warm white. The Essential and Signature packages use fewer lights for smaller rooms and receptions.
Do I have to collect the equipment?
No. Gear can be picked up from Preston, or the team can deliver it, set it up and pack it away after the event anywhere across Melbourne. Delivery quotes assume street-level access to the room.
How does payment work?
A 20% deposit confirms the order and the balance is due at least seven days before delivery. Bookings made inside seven days are paid in full, and collected hires are due back by midday the day after the event.
