About Vintage Connections
Vintage Connections is a small, locally owned Hunter Valley wine tour business run by Bryan Hampton, who drives and guides the tours himself. Every booking is private and capped at eight guests, which keeps the day flexible: the itinerary is worked out with you beforehand and leans towards small-batch boutique wine made from Hunter fruit, with stops for gin, vodka, craft beer, cheese, olives or charcuterie if the group wants them. Tours come in several shapes. The half day runs four hours, either 10am to 2pm or 1pm to 5pm. Full days run around seven hours, and can be the Tailor Made option, a version that includes a generous cheese and charcuterie platter at a winery for every four guests, or The Works, an all-inclusive day priced per person with tastings covered and less room to change the plan. There is also a romantic tour for couples and a two-day package. On most tours, cellar door tasting fees are paid separately so the itinerary can stay open. Bryan has built relationships with cellar door managers, winemakers and growers, which opens up private tastings where guests meet the people behind the wine. Wine education is part of the appeal too, from how to taste and judge a wine to why some pairings work. Photos from the day are shared free of charge with full editing rights. Guests travel in a climate-controlled Mercedes-Benz with a five-star ANCAP safety rating, and the business is an accredited, authorised passenger transport provider. Pickup and return cover accommodation in Pokolbin, Nulkaba, Rothbury, Lovedale and Cessnock, and evening restaurant transfers can be added.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can join a Vintage Connections tour?
Up to eight. All tours are private, so your group has the vehicle and the guide to itself, whether it is two people or eight.
Are tasting fees included?
Not on most tours, which keeps the itinerary flexible. If you would rather pay once, The Works is an all-inclusive day at $215 per person, with less room to change the plan.
Where does the tour pick up from?
Your Hunter Valley accommodation in Pokolbin, Nulkaba, Rothbury, Lovedale or Cessnock, with return to the same place at the end of the day.
Can the tour suit a birthday or anniversary?
Yes. Couples can book the romantic tour, and small birthday groups up to eight can plan a tailored day, add a platter at a winery or finish with a transfer to dinner.
Does Vintage Connections do transfers as well as tours?
Yes. Private return transfers cover Hunter restaurants, airport and cruise ship terminals, and concerts or special venues. Transfers can be booked after hours on request.
