About Hunter Valley Small Group Tours
Hunter Valley Small Group Tours works out of Lovedale and keeps things deliberately small. Every booking is private to one party of between two and eight people, so there are no strangers on board and no set departure board to follow. The team moved to the Hunter in the late 1990s and has guided visitors around the valley from the air and on the back of a trike before settling on a luxury minibus. There are several ways to spend the day. The full-day Go Your Own Way tour runs for eight hours and is built entirely around your choice of cellar doors and lunch, while the half-day version gives you 3.5 hours with a driver at the venues you nominate. Prefer to be guided? The curated full-day tour visits a mix of historic estates and smaller boutique producers, a morning tour catches the vines while they are cool and quiet, a four-hour afternoon tour runs into the late light, and a six-hour option pairs afternoon tastings with a transfer to dinner. Midweek, couples and groups of three can ask about an electric-vehicle full-day tour. Guests arriving by train can be collected from Morisset station. Beyond tours, the business handles airport transfers into the valley, hourly charters for weddings and dinners, and private drivers for longer multi-day trips. Every transfer is door to door in a climate-controlled vehicle, with luggage and shopping handled for you. Accommodation within 10 km of the Hunter Valley Visitor Centre is collected free of charge. For places further out, such as Broke, Wollombi, Mount View, Branxton and the edges of Cessnock, pick-up is charged per kilometre from the Lovedale office.

How big can our group be?
Tours and transfers take between two and eight guests, and every booking is private to your own party. There are no shared or mixed-group seats.
Is pick-up included?
Pick-up and drop-off are free for accommodation within 10 km of the Hunter Valley Visitor Centre. Further afield, full-day tours are charged $3 per kilometre and half-day tours $4.50 per kilometre, measured from the Lovedale office.
Can we choose our own wineries?
Yes. The Go Your Own Way tours, full day or half day, are built around the cellar doors and lunch spot you pick, with the business supplying the driver and vehicle. Guided tours with a set route are also offered.
Do you do wedding transport?
Hourly charters can be booked for weddings, dinners and other events in the valley, with a driver and vehicle on hand for as long as you need, for up to eight guests.
Are half-day pick-ups from further out available on Saturdays?
Out-of-area pick-ups for half-day tours are not offered on Saturdays or public holidays unless you phone the office first to check.
