About Hunter Valley Private Wine Tours & Transfers
Hunter Valley Private Wine Tours & Transfers is a very small, family-run business based in Cessnock, a few minutes from most of the valley's wineries. It is 100% women owned and run, and the two drivers, Jo and Robyne, each have their own vehicle: Jo drives the sedan for up to four and Robyne the people mover for up to seven. An 11-seat mini bus covers groups of eight to eleven, and two vehicles can be paired for up to 20, subject to availability. Every tour is private and priced per vehicle rather than per person. A full day includes up to 12 hours, starting any time from 9.30am, and you can finish after dinner if you like. You can book the wineries yourself in your preferred order, or ask the driver to suggest venues and make the bookings for a small card-fee charge. Suggestions are based on past guests' feedback, since no gratuities come from the venues. The driver stays with you all day but does not join you inside, leaving tastings and lunch to your group. The price takes care of bottled water, mints and gum for cleansing the palate, phone charging cables, a chilled cooler for purchases, a winery guide and map, and a return dinner transfer on local bookings. Dogs are welcome, with lists of pet-friendly wineries, breweries and lunch spots, and children over six months can come along with a booster seat in the larger vehicles. The vehicles are alcohol-free and food-free apart from the supplied snacks. Saturdays, public holidays and some listed dates carry a surcharge, and pickups outside Pokolbin and its immediate surrounds cost extra. As the drivers are often on the road, enquiries are best sent by text.

How is Hunter Valley Private Wine Tours & Transfers priced?
Per vehicle, not per person. A full day is $275 in the sedan for up to four, $400 in the people mover for up to seven or $625 in the mini bus for up to 11. Tasting fees and meals are extra.
Is there a cheaper half-day option?
No. You can go out for just a few hours, but it is charged at the full-day rate. The full day includes up to 12 hours, and extra hours are $25 each.
Can we drink in the vehicle?
No. Only water is allowed in the vehicles, and food is limited to the snacks supplied. The tasting happens at the venues.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes. Dogs are welcome and receive a small gift. Please make sure they are clean and flea treated, bring a towel in wet weather, and note that the sedan does not suit large dogs.
Do you take children?
Yes, from six months old. A booster seat suitable for six months to eight years is available for $10, and the people mover and mini bus take up to two child seats. The sedan cannot carry children under seven.
