About Krusin Kombis

Krusin Kombis is a family-run wedding and event car business that has been chauffeuring restored Volkswagen Kombis for more than a decade. The team is based in Newcastle and spends much of its time on Hunter Valley wedding days, driving out to vineyard ceremonies and estate receptions in Pokolbin, Lovedale, Broke and the country around Cessnock and Maitland. The fleet is two very different Kombis. The super-stretch is a lengthened van with seats for ten, so a large bridal party can arrive in one go rather than split across cars. The second is an original 1960s split-screen painted mouse grey, which holds seven and suits a couple, or a smaller group, who want a classic look in the photos. Plenty of couples hire both, keeping the stretch for the wedding party and the split-screen for themselves. Every hire lasts 3.5 hours and a member of the family drives, dressed in uniform. The van is dressed with ribbons and styling to match your colours, an ice bucket is filled and waiting inside, and you can stop as often as you like along the booked run, from the pick-up to the ceremony, the photo locations and the reception. Weddings make up most of the work, but the Kombis also go to school formals, big birthdays, anniversaries, corporate and brand events, and styled photo shoots. Prices are set per Kombi, and Hunter Valley bookings add the return drive time from Newcastle. The seven-seat split-screen Kombi is $1,400 and the ten-seat super-stretch is $1,850, each for a 3.5-hour chauffeured hire with ribbons, styling, an ice bucket and unlimited stops included. Newcastle and Lake Macquarie carry no travel charge; Hunter Valley weddings add return drive time from Newcastle at $160 an hour. A 25 per cent deposit (minimum $200) secures the date.
