About Monkey Place Catering
Monkey Place Catering grew out of a family-run country house of the same name, and when its owners moved permanently to Broke they turned their hospitality background into a catering business. Chef Ben Sanger and pastry chef Jaclyn Crasto have cooked in hotels and restaurants around Australia, and they focus on small to medium weddings, private dining, ready meals and corporate events. The private chef service is the most requested. The team arrives at your accommodation, cooks a three-course dinner and serves it at the table, bringing its own table settings, crockery and cutlery and taking them back to wash in its commercial kitchen. The set menu, with one dish per course for the group, is $88 per person, and the alternate drop, with two dishes per course served alternately, is $110. Both include an amuse bouche, palate cleanser and petit fours. Guests bring their own wine, as alcohol is not supplied. Wedding catering is built from several styles: cocktail menus of passed canapés and mini meals, a formal sit-down, a gourmet BBQ cooked to order, or a shared banquet where each table gets its own platters. The BBQ package includes chefs and service staff, plates, cutlery and napkins, the barbecue, kitchen marquee and buffet setup, plus cutting and platters for the cake with a tea and coffee station. To finish, there is a mini dessert buffet at $16 for three selections or $23 for five when added to a full package, and a doughnut station at $4 or $6 per doughnut with a minimum of 50. A kids menu, chilled seafood, recovery brunches, bridal snacks and late-night snacks can be added.

How much does a private chef dinner cost with Monkey Place Catering?
A set three-course menu is $88 per person and the alternate drop is $110 per person, both with an amuse bouche, palate cleanser and petit fours. Those menus are listed for at least eight guests.
What is the minimum booking?
The FAQ gives a minimum booking of six people, and smaller groups can be arranged if the minimum fee is covered. The published set menus are priced for eight or more, and the upper limit depends on the space at the property.
Do you supply alcohol?
No. Monkey Place Catering cannot supply or serve alcohol, but the chefs are happy to suggest wines to buy from nearby cellar doors to match the menu.
Do we need to clean up afterwards?
No. The team brings its own crockery, cutlery and table settings and takes them away to wash. All you need to do is leave the kitchen tidy before they start.
