About Firescreek Botanical Winery
Firescreek Botanical Winery is a family winery on Wattle Tree Road in Holgate run by Nadia and Francis, who make small-batch wines from fruit, flowers and herbs rather than grapes, using regenerative organic farming. The property takes in organic gardens, an orchard, vines and a patch of rainforest, and the cellar door opens Wednesday to Sunday for a complimentary tasting with no booking needed. For groups, the draw is a set of bookable experiences built around the gardens and the wines. The Foraging and Mixology Workshop starts with a guided tasting of the current vintages, then sends guests into the organic gardens to gather garnishes before a bartender shows them how to build three mini cocktails, such as mimosas and bellinis, in antique crystal glassware. Groups work from their own garden room overlooking the ponds, with music playing, and mocktail ingredients are supplied for non-drinkers. Allow about 90 minutes for larger groups. The Wine-Maker's Secret Garden Tour is a more personal look behind the scenes, tasting each wine in a different part of the property and visiting the vat room, while the Chocolate and Wine Pairing matches four handmade chocolates with four wines on a board in the garden. The foraging workshop costs $49 for adults, $45 for seniors and non-drinking adults and $35 for children aged 3 to 17, and it can be booked exclusively for $490 for up to 10 guests, with room for 24 in total. Pamper workshops making bath soaks and scrubs alongside wine and chocolate tastings can be run for private groups of 10 or more. Under NSW cellar door rules, drinking on site is limited to the tasting in each experience, with wine sold to take home.

Frequently asked questions
What group experiences can we book?
Options include the Foraging and Mixology Workshop, the Wine-Maker's Secret Garden Tour, a Chocolate and Wine Pairing, and Loveshak Sip, Soak and Savour pamper workshops that can be run privately for a group.
How much is the foraging and mixology workshop?
It's $49 for adults, $45 for seniors and non-drinkers over 18, and $35 for children aged 3 to 17. A private session for up to 10 guests is $490, with extra guests charged per head up to 24.
Can children come along?
Under-18s are welcome to join the foraging workshop at the child price but can't taste anything alcoholic. Non-alcoholic juices and sparkling are provided for them instead.
Can we keep drinking after the experience?
No. The winery's licence limits on-site drinking to the tastings within each experience, so it can't operate as a bar. Bottles can be bought to take home.
How long does the workshop take?
Allow about an hour and a half for larger groups. Workshops start on time, and private sessions at other times can be arranged by email.

Had a fantastic time at the cocktail making workshop. We loved exploring the gardens, then learning how to make little bouquets to decorate our glasses. We then got to mix up lots of delicious drinks! A fabulous event.

Firescreek is a beautiful way to spend your afternoon - a hidden gem on the NSW Central Coast. Lovely welcoming staff in a stunning setting. We had the wine and chocolate pairing sitting in the rotunda. Delightful

Very pleasant afternoon spent sampling the fruit wines and chocolates. The grounds, although not very extensive, are nonetheless very attractive and the wines are unique in their taste. I recommend the venue.
