About Distillery Botanica
Distillery Botanica is a craft distillery on Portsmouth Road in Erina, founded by master distiller Philip Moore, who spent two decades growing herbs before turning his botanicals into spirits. The stills sit in the middle of three acres of gardens planted with juniper, cardamom, turmeric, citrus and native plants, many of which end up in the gins, vodka, rum and liqueurs sold at the distillery door. Visitors can drop in for a tasting from Wednesday to Sunday, but the bookable experiences are what make it work for a group. The Distill Your Own workshop runs on weekends and takes around two hours: after a tasting to settle on a style, guests pick fresh herbs and botanicals in the garden, watch their spirit run through a traditional copper still, then design a personal label for the bottle they take home. The Garden and Distillery Tour begins with a gin and tonic, walks through the gardens and the working distillery, and ends with a guided tasting of the range. The cocktail class covers bar technique, balancing flavours and garnishing while each guest makes three signature drinks, and mocktail versions can be arranged at booking. For birthdays, hens and bucks, Christmas parties and work events, the team puts together private packages that can combine a class, a workshop or a tasting with drinks, grazing boards, catering, styling and other extras. Bar Botanica, an independently run cafe on the same grounds, serves light meals, and cheese and cracker platters can be added to a tasting. There is free parking on site, the tasting room and most garden paths are wheelchair friendly, and cancellations need 48 hours' notice to be rescheduled or credited.

Frequently asked questions
How much do the experiences cost?
The Garden and Distillery Tour is $45 a head and runs about 90 minutes, a hosted sit-down tasting is $15, and the Distill Your Own gin or vodka workshop is $180 a head. Cocktail class prices are shown when you book.
Can we book a private event for our group?
Yes. Groups book it for birthdays, hens and bucks days, Christmas get-togethers, work functions and team outings, and the team can tailor a package with cocktails, catering, styling and a class or tasting. Email the team to start planning.
How long is the Distill Your Own workshop, and what do we take home?
Allow around two to two and a half hours. You choose gin or vodka, pick botanicals from the garden, distil your spirit in a copper still and design a label for the bottle you take home. It runs on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is food available?
Bar Botanica, a separately run cafe on the grounds, offers pastries, pies, sandwiches and grazing platters, and a cheese and cracker platter can be pre-ordered with a tasting for $10 a head.
Is there parking and wheelchair access?
Free parking is available on site, though space is limited on busy weekends, so carpooling helps for groups. The distillery, tasting room and most garden paths are wheelchair friendly.
