About Midnight Black Band
Midnight Black Band is the project of Courtney Keil, a country singer and songwriter who has toured nationally, and Adam Black, a classically trained guitarist and singer who draws on jazz, soul, funk and blues. Around them sits a group of experienced session and touring musicians, so the line-up can grow from two people to a full band. Weddings are packaged by how much of the day you want covered. The simplest option is the pair as an acoustic duo for 30 minutes around the ceremony. Others add an hour of cocktail music, two duo sets during the reception, or a five-piece band with both vocalists, guitar, bass, drums and keys playing up to four 45-minute sets. Every package includes learning three songs for moments such as the aisle walk or first dance, a PA suited to about 180 guests, and planning by email and a phone or video meeting. A battery-powered setup handles outdoor ceremonies with no mains power. For corporate and private events the same choice applies: an acoustic duo or trio for arrivals, dinners and networking, or the full band for awards nights, galas and milestone parties. For a custom line-up, horns, an upright bass, Latin percussion, a DJ or an MC can be added. The band arrives hours early to set up and packs everything down at the end.

Frequently asked questions
Can we choose the songs Midnight Black Band plays?
They learn up to three songs of your choice for key moments, then read the room and work from their own large set list for the rest of the event.
Do they bring their own sound equipment?
Yes. A PA, microphones and lighting are supplied, and there is a battery-powered option for ceremonies in places without power.
How far do they travel?
The band is based on the Central Coast. A travel fee is added for events outside their usual corridor, and for venue visits away from the Coast.
Do they take breaks during the reception?
Breaks are timed around meals and speeches, and a curated playlist fills each one so the music never stops.
Can the line-up be customised for a corporate event?
Yes. Choose a duo or trio, the full band, or a bespoke line-up that adds horns, upright bass, Latin percussion, a DJ or an MC.
