About Dolce Strings
Dolce Strings is a string quartet based on the Central Coast: Phoebe Hasseldon and Amanda Elkington on violin, Amba Mezzone on viola and Monica Jamieson on cello. All four are classically trained, and between them they have more than 25 years in the industry. Weddings are the main work, from the guests' arrival and the walk down the aisle through the signing to pre-dinner drinks and the reception. The repertoire runs from the classical canon, including Mozart and Beethoven, to arrangements of contemporary songs such as Ed Sheeran and older standards in the style of Frank Sinatra, so couples can mix traditional pieces with something more personal. The quartet is just as comfortable in a church as on a vineyard lawn. Outside weddings they play cocktail parties, milestone birthdays, corporate functions, restaurant evenings, high teas and family gatherings, and have played openings for new local venues and publications. Bookings are by the hour, from one hour to three, at published rates for the Central Coast region, with a modest travel fee for venues beyond it. They play outdoors as long as there is a shaded, dry area for the musicians and instruments.

Frequently asked questions
Which instruments are in Dolce Strings?
Two violins, a viola and a cello, played by four classically trained musicians who have each performed professionally for many years.
What music can the quartet play at our wedding?
Classical works such as Mozart and Beethoven alongside string arrangements of contemporary pop and classic crooner songs, chosen to suit each part of the day.
Can they play outside?
Yes, provided there is a dry, shaded space for the players. Direct sun and rain can damage the instruments, so shelter is needed for outdoor ceremonies.
How is the quartet priced?
By the hour: $1,200 for one hour up to $3,600 for three hours, for events in the Central Coast region. A small travel fee applies further out.
Do they play events other than weddings?
Yes. Corporate functions, cocktail parties, birthdays, high teas, restaurant evenings and venue openings are all part of their bookings.
