About Ultimate DJs

Ultimate DJs is a Wollongong DJ business led by Dan Searle, who has been DJing for more than 25 years and playing weddings since 2010. He started the business to bring the live mixing of club sets to weddings and private events, and the crew now covers weddings, birthdays, engagement parties, corporate functions and school formals across the Illawarra. Party and corporate packages run for five hours. The entry package includes two speakers suited to about 120 guests, a wired microphone for speeches and an LED lighting stand, with set up and pack down included. The larger package adds a subwoofer for up to 250 guests, a wireless microphone, a white DJ booth, ten wireless uplights and two moving head lights on a truss. Wedding packages are also five hours and come with dance floor lighting, a wireless microphone and access to the crew's planning app, where couples add their must-play songs, the tracks they do not want and the order of the day. The higher wedding package guarantees Dan as the DJ and adds a white booth and uplighting. An MC can be added to introduce speeches and keep the night moving, and extras include ceremony sound, extra hours, a dry ice first dance effect and moving lights. The crew also hires out an open-air digital photobooth for photos, GIFs and video messages, with prints and a guestbook as options. A deposit holds the date, and travel charges only apply beyond the local area.

Private party and corporate packages are $800 or $1,200 including GST for five hours. Wedding packages are $1,500 or $1,800 for five hours, with MC hosting $300 extra and additional hours $150 each. The Social Booth photobooth is $500 on its own or $250 with a DJ package. A $300 deposit secures the date and the balance is due a week before.

Performance Details

A DJ mixes live through a five-hour booking, using a request list and do-not-play list gathered beforehand.
