About Balloon Expressions
Balloon Expressions is a balloon and party shop on Keira Street in Wollongong, run by directors Vivienne and Javier Manzano with a small team of balloon artists. It has served the Illawarra for more than two decades, and the business sells everything from single bouquets to full event styling. For parties and functions, the team designs organic garlands, freestanding pieces, full arches and backdrops in whatever colours you choose. Set packages make it simple: a ready-made 2.5 metre garland you can hang yourself, a plinth with garland for a cake or gift table, a mini freestanding garland, or a full arch over an entrance. For anything bigger, you send your ideas and they quote a custom design. Delivery, installation and pack down are included in styled jobs where needed, and they work alongside local event stylists. There is also a prop hire range to build a backdrop: round and square plinths, acrylic discs with decals, solid and mesh arch walls, a sail wall, a gold hoop and a hollow arch that can be painted to suit. Customisation is done in house, with vinyl decals for backdrops, personalised signage and 3D printed cake toppers. Bookings two to three weeks ahead are recommended, and travel outside Wollongong is available with a fee.

Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should we book balloon styling?
The team suggests booking at least two to three weeks before the event, and earlier in busy seasons, so there is time to design and order colours.
Do they deliver and set up?
Yes. Styled jobs can include delivery, installation and pack down. Set garland prices are quoted without delivery, which is added based on where the event is.
Can we hire backdrop props without balloons?
Props such as plinths, arch walls, mesh arches, a sail wall and a gold hoop are listed for hire. Prices cover the prop only, with delivery and customisation extra.
Do they travel outside Wollongong?
Yes. They cover the wider Illawarra and surrounding areas, with a travel fee depending on distance and availability on the day.
How long will helium balloons last?
Foil balloons usually float for five to seven days. Latex balloons last around 12 to 14 hours, or two to three days with a treatment the shop can apply.
