About Mark Dabin Music
Mark Dabin is a full-time acoustic musician based in Kiama who plays around 160 shows a year, from pub and club gigs to weddings and private functions. His style is fingerstyle percussive guitar: he sings while playing, then layers looped beats and foot percussion so a solo set has the drive of a small band. For weddings, the entry package covers 20 minutes of instrumental music before the ceremony, the key ceremony songs played live, and up to 90 minutes of music while guests enjoy canapes. A larger package keeps him playing through the reception, and a full-day option pairs his live sets with a DJ and MC from a partner business for the later part of the night. Ceremony songs range from Canon in D to Ed Sheeran, and he will learn a special request if you ask early enough. His song list runs to more than 400 covers from the 1960s to now, and he adjusts the set to the crowd as the night goes on. He also runs a themed show called the Aussie Song Book, built from classic Australian and New Zealand rock. Duo and trio line-ups are available with a vocalist or percussion.
