About Gemma Brooks Civil Celebrant
Gemma Brooks is a registered civil celebrant living on the South Coast, who was raised on a South Australian farm and moved to the region in 2015. She trained as a nurse and has worked in healthcare since 2011, and she brings that caring, unhurried approach to the couples she marries, guiding them through each step so the process feels simple. Weddings are offered in three tiers. The legals-only package suits elopements: a short ceremony of 10 to 15 minutes with the couple and two witnesses, a NOIM appointment four to six weeks out, and all paperwork supplied and lodged. The intimate package, for fewer than 20 guests, adds a custom script that combines the legal vows with personal touches. The fullest package is designed for moderate and larger weddings. Gemma writes a ceremony around the couple's story, can include rituals such as handfasting, a unity candle or a ribbon ceremony, stays in contact by phone and email throughout, and runs a rehearsal before the day. Her style is warm, inclusive and modern, and she is happy to travel to venues and beaches across the Illawarra and beyond. Gemma also conducts funerals and naming days.
