Christmas Party Venues in Woolloomooloo

For a team that would rather have a pub Christmas than a ballroom, Woolloomooloo's locals keep things simple. The Bells Hotel has traded on the corner of Bourke Street since 1922 and lends its function room free of charge, while The Old Fitzroy Hotel, known to regulars as The Fitz, squeezes a neighbourhood pub, a bistro and a small theatre into one building.

Setting up the work party:

• No hire fee: The Bells' function room behind the main bar costs nothing, and drinks are paid at the bar.
• Flexible layout: tables of various sizes let The Bells set up a seated meal or looser groups.
• Fresh air in December: the roof over the room retracts, so it can open up on a fine day.
• End-of-year drinks and farewells: The Fitz pitches its function rooms at work drinks and send-offs as well as long lunches.
• Dinner and a show: theatre ticket holders can book the Fitz's pre-theatre set menu.

The Bells closes only on Christmas Day, so late-December dates are open there, and The Fitz's events team takes bookings through an enquiry form, email or phone.
