Family Video Australia is a Newtown video company led by founder Michelle Bova, whose team has spent more than 16 years recording family occasions. The business grew out of a sister company when families it had helped asked the team back for happier events, so it also films and live streams weddings, engagements, christenings, birthdays, religious ceremonies and school or community events. There are two ways to book. Live streaming sends the event to a private webpage in real time, with a delay of only a few seconds, so relatives who cannot travel can watch on a phone, tablet or computer. The team brings its own dual-sim internet connection, arrives one to two hours early to set up, and keeps a backup recording in case the signal drops. The page can be personalised with a photo or wording, includes a live chat so the office can help online viewers, and stays up for one to six months depending on the package. Video recording is the alternative for anyone who wants a polished edit with colour and sound correction, and the same-day option is generally ready within 12 hours. The published live streaming package covers up to 60 minutes inside one venue with two high-definition cameras, a private page for a month, a viewer comment section and a download within seven days, for $1,100 plus GST. Larger jobs can add a third camera, several locations or a full day of coverage. The team works across Greater Sydney as well as the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong, and takes calls seven days a week.
