About Mornington Bowling Club
Mornington Bowling Club has been part of the town since 1917 and sits on the cliff top along the Esplanade. Its greens and clubhouse look straight out over Port Phillip Bay, and the lounge is a good spot to watch yachts, dolphins and the sunset. Barefoot bowls is open to the public with no membership needed. Experienced members show newcomers how to bowl, the bar is open for every session and evening sessions add a sausage sizzle. Bookings are taken online for small numbers, while larger groups of up to 20 can be arranged directly with the club. Groups of four or fewer may share a rink with others on busy nights. For a team building day, a staff reward, client entertaining or a Christmas party, the club hires out rinks between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Tuition from a club member is part of the session, and the bar facilities sit right beside the greens. The function hall seats up to 120, with heating and cooling, a fully equipped kitchen and smart TVs for presentations. It suits birthdays, celebrations and presentation nights, and the club can suggest a caterer or you can use the kitchen yourselves. Bookings for 18th and 21st birthdays and hens or stag nights are not accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need to be members to play barefoot bowls?
No. Barefoot bowls is open to anyone, and club members provide tuition for beginners. The cost is $10 per person, and the bar is open throughout each session.
How many people can we bring?
Up to 20 people can be accommodated for a barefoot bowls booking, and larger numbers can hire rinks for a private function. Small groups of up to four may share a rink with other bowlers.
Is food available at barefoot bowls?
A sausage sizzle runs at all evening barefoot bowls sessions. Food and drinks are not allowed on the greens themselves, so meals and drinks are enjoyed off the rinks.
Can we hold a birthday party at the club?
Yes, the hall seats up to 120 and suits birthdays, celebrations and presentation nights, with a full kitchen and heating and cooling. The club does not take bookings for 18th or 21st birthdays, or hens and stag nights.
Are there rules for playing on the greens?
Bowls should be placed on the green rather than dropped, and fast driving shots are not allowed for safety. Parents need to supervise their own children while bowling.

The friendliest and most lovely people. They really enjoy what they do. Great fun, bare foot bowling. Get a sausage and enjoy a beverage. The most incredible views of the bay, too.
