About Mane Events
Mane Events started in 2012 and has grown into a team of wedding DJs and MCs working from Redhead, south of Newcastle. Owner Sean has been DJing professionally for more than 27 years, playing clubs and venues across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, and he also works as an MC. The team, which includes DJ and MC Tom and DJ Matt, has played more than 1500 weddings across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and regional NSW. Most bookings are weddings, and the DJ usually covers the whole day: pre-ceremony and signing music, the cocktail hour, the reception entrance, speeches and the dance floor. When booked as MC, the DJ also keeps the formalities on time and introduces each part of the night. Sets draw on music from the 1960s through to commercial hits, club tracks, lounge and hip hop, and couples can send song requests and a list of songs to avoid ahead of the day. There are also DJ and saxophone and DJ and photo booth packages. Lighting is club-grade rather than basic chasers, and larger systems, spotlights, lasers, disco balls and bubble machines can be added before the quote is issued. DJs dress in black pants and a buttoned shirt for weddings, or to a theme if asked. Quotes are sent within 48 hours of an enquiry, and a $200 deposit secures the date. Overtime, if the DJ can stay on, is charged at $50 for each extra half hour.

Frequently asked questions
Can the DJ also MC our wedding?
Yes. Sean and Tom both work as DJ and MC, covering the music and announcements from the ceremony through speeches to the send-off.
Do they play weddings in the Hunter Valley?
Yes. Mane Events runs a dedicated Hunter Valley wedding DJ service, and Sean has played venues across Newcastle and the Hunter for many years.
How do we book and pay?
Send your event details for a quote within 48 hours. A $200 deposit secures the DJ, and the balance is paid by transfer, or in cash on the day.
Can the DJ play longer on the night?
If the DJ is free to stay, overtime is $50 for each extra half hour, paid to the DJ before the extra time starts.
What will the DJ wear?
For weddings, DJs wear black pants, black shoes and a buttoned shirt. Themed or casual events can request a different dress code.
