About Hunter Adventure Centre
Hunter Adventure Centre is the base of a team-building business that founder Adam Wiseman started more than a decade ago, and it has run Segway tours from the Hunter Valley Resort site on Hermitage Road in Pokolbin for years. The property sits among old Shiraz vines below the Broken Back Range, with a purpose-built activity area, 4 Pines Brewery and resort accommodation all on the same grounds. The guided Segway tour is the signature outing. Most departures last about 70 minutes and cover 5.5km of vineyards, bush tracks and stock routes on off-road Segways, with a 40-minute tour running once a day. Training at the start covers two levels, so nobody needs prior experience, and the guide stops for photos along the way. Tours take two to ten people, or up to 18 with a second guide, and private tours can be arranged. Riders need to be aged 11 to 65 and weigh between 20kg and 120kg, and the tour isn't suitable during pregnancy. For hens and bucks parties or a birthday crew, the centre puts together small group packages that combine activities. Options include an eight-lane axe throwing range with one-hour sessions for ages 13 and over, archery, laser clay shooting, Mission Impossible challenges and Viking Games. Corporate groups can add Segway Seglympics or giant human foosball, and the team can also bring its activities to another venue. Flat closed shoes are required, and food can be arranged through the brewery next door.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need Segway experience?
No. Most riders are first-timers, and each tour opens with two levels of training. As a rough guide, anyone who manages a flight of stairs without help can ride one.
How long is the Segway tour?
Most tours run about 70 minutes and cover 5.5km, including training. There is also one shorter 40-minute tour each day at 11.30am.
How many people can join one tour?
Each tour takes two to ten riders. With an extra guide, up to 18 can go out together, and bigger groups can be split across sessions or combined with other activities.
Are there age and weight limits?
Segway riders must be aged 11 to 65, with under-16s accompanied by a parent, and weigh between 20kg and 120kg. Axe throwing, archery and laser clay shooting are for ages 13 and up.
Can we eat and drink on site?
There's a vending machine for snacks and drinks, and 4 Pines Brewery on the same property can handle meals, drinks and group catering before or after your activities.
