About For the Love of Grape
For the Love of Grape runs private wine tours on the Mornington Peninsula, with a driver who stays off the wine so the whole group can taste. The business grew from MP Designated Drivers, which Alicia set up on the Peninsula in 2013. There are four ways to book. The DIY option gives you a van or bus and a driver for up to seven hours while you make your own winery bookings. The full-day tour covers four venues of your choosing with tasting fees and a winery lunch, and the large group tour suits 11 or more guests with a cheese platter, lunch and a closing drink. A half-day tastings tour fills an afternoon with three cellar doors. Groups can also finish at a brewery or distillery, or add lunch and an extra hour to a tastings day. Every tour includes local pick-up and drop-off, so nobody has to sort out a lift home. Leah looks after bookings and helps each group shortlist venues that suit its tastes and numbers, from big-name wineries to small boutique producers. The tone is relaxed and unpretentious – no wine knowledge needed – and the team is used to hens days, birthdays and casual catch-ups with friends. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Peninsula's cool maritime climate are the usual stars of the day.

How many people can come on a For the Love of Grape tour?

What does the DIY tour include?
Local pick-up and drop-off plus a vehicle and driver for up to seven hours. You book your own wineries and pay for tastings and lunch on the day, and the team is happy to suggest venues.
What is included on the full-day tour?
Pick-up between 10.30 and 11am, four venues of your choice, all tasting fees and a winery lunch with a glass of wine at most venues, then time for a drink at the last stop.
Is there a tour suited to hens and birthday groups?
Yes. The large group tour for 11 or more guests visits three venues: tastings with a cheese platter, then a winery lunch with a glass of wine, then a cocktail, wine, cider or beer at the third stop.
Are there extra charges on public holidays?
A 20% surcharge applies to every tour and DIY package on a public holiday. Optional extras include a final drink at a brewery or distillery for an extra $10 per person.
