About Shimmying Flames
Shimmying Flames is a Middle Eastern belly dance school run by Ros “Romaya” from its own studio in Mornington. Alongside its weekly classes, the school supplies dancers to entertain at private parties and functions. Book the dancers to perform at a birthday, a work event or a children's party, and they arrive in full costume with props such as veils and canes. For a hens night, the group can learn a short routine together in a fun, relaxed workshop instead of simply watching. Ros and her students appear around the Peninsula and Frankston at community events, festivals, fundraisers and school days, as well as at private bookings. The school's student troupe performs at community occasions, while hired entertainers cover parties and corporate functions. The performers come out of a school that teaches children, teenagers and adults from beginner to advanced level. Lessons cover technique as well as the music and cultural roots of the dance, and that grounding shows when the troupe takes the floor. Every booking is quoted on its own, depending on the event, the number of dancers and what you would like them to do. Send an enquiry with your date, venue and guest numbers to check availability.
