About Something Blue Band
Something Blue Band is a wedding and function band based in Melbourne, and its FAQ notes it has played all over Victoria, Mornington included. The players are young musicians who also gig live, and the singers are used to choosing the next song by watching the floor. The music draws on soul, jazz, rhythm and blues and classic rock'n'roll, the kind of songs that bring out grandparents and friends alike. The usual line-up is a five-piece of vocals, guitar, keys, bass and drums. A sax or trumpet makes it a six-piece, and bigger versions with a two-piece horn section can grow to ten players. Each reception package covers as many as four 45-minute sets, with the PA, microphones and gear, setup and pack-down, and recorded music between sets. A separate ceremony package pairs a singer with a guitarist or pianist for as long as an hour, with a two-speaker PA and a microphone for the celebrant. Percussion, wind, violin or extra guitar can be added. Jewish weddings can have a complete bracket of traditional horas played live. Couples can pick every song or name a few to set the style. With setup included, the band spends nearly seven hours on site, so a meal, drinks and somewhere to take breaks are appreciated.

Yes. The band's FAQ says it has played all over Victoria, Mornington included. A travel fee may be added for venues outside the metropolitan area, and it is confirmed in the quote.
What does the band cost?
Packages start from $2,495. The final price depends on the line-up, from five to ten players, and on extras such as the ceremony package, so each booking is quoted.
How long is the performance?
Reception packages give you at least three hours of live music, usually split into four 45-minute sets timed around your running order.
Do we get to choose the songs?
Yes. Some couples choose the full list, but most send a few songs they love to show the style and leave the singers to read the crowd from there.
What should the venue provide for the band?
Counting setup and pack-down, the band is at the venue for nearly seven hours. The band appreciates a meal, drinks and a quiet spot for breaks, though a seat in the main room is not needed.
