Jenny Chiu is a Melbourne wedding MC and civil marriage celebrant who works in three languages every day: English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Her reception hosting covers far more than the microphone – she runs the evening to the run sheet, keeps the suppliers on cue and makes sure grandparents, colleagues and friends all follow the speeches, toasts and formalities. She brings experience from hotels, the stage, events and AV work, plus a chartered accountant's eye for detail, and she has spent more than a decade managing stages and events. She writes every wedding from scratch rather than working from a template, so the hosting reflects the couple and their families. Cultural traditions are a big part of her work. She can host a Chinese tea ceremony with a china tea set, organic ingredients, styling and pack-down supplied, and she designs fetch-the-bride door games with the couple and bridesmaids so the morning stays fun and on schedule. As a Commonwealth-registered celebrant since December 2022, she can also conduct the legal ceremony, which means one person can carry the whole day from vows to the last dance.
