About Kartatak Raceway
Kartatak Raceway is a fully indoor go-kart centre on Ace Crescent in Tuggerah, a few hundred metres from Westfield Tuggerah and the train station. The track was designed around drifting, mixing quick sweeping bends with tight hairpins, and the karts are set up to slide, so even first-time drivers get a feel for going sideways. Because it is all under cover, bookings go ahead whatever the weather. Party packages suit groups of 6 to 18 and give each driver three 10-minute races, with up to six karts on the track at once and staff rotating the group through. Between drives, guests wait at their own table in the covered courtyard with a packet of chips, a soft drink or water and free use of the arcade games. Junior racer parties are for ages 8 to 11 and pro racer parties for 12 and up. For work functions and team days, the venue can be closed to the public and hired exclusively by the hour, and catering such as sandwiches, finger food and pizza can be arranged at extra cost. Junior karts need drivers to be at least 8 years old and 127cm tall, and senior karts 12 years and 140cm. Double karts take a driver aged 18 or over with a passenger from four years old. Drivers under 18 need adult consent, enclosed shoes and casual clothes with nothing loose are a must, and hairnets go on under the helmets. Bookings are essential, and the last drives are sold an hour before closing.

We had a great time - one adult, one kid - first time solo gocarters. Kartatak limits how many people are on the track at once - I think 2-5 carts - so there’s plenty of space to set your own pace. We could pass at key p…
