About Teddy Bear Entertainment

Teddy Bear Entertainment grew out of Mel's Professional Face Painting and Balloon Twisting, which Mel started in 2004. She trained in acting at NIDA, danced competitively for years and is a qualified primary teacher; the business now runs under a name borrowed from her two cavoodles, Teddy and Bear, with a team of artists working alongside her. Face painting and balloon twisting remain the core of the work and are often booked together. From there, a party can be built up with glitter tattoos that last several days, UV face paint for glow parties, airbrush tattoos, hair braiding, a glitter and bling bar, giant bubble shows where children can stand inside a bubble, and games packages with parachute games, limbo and musical statues. Character packages bring a favourite princess or hero for photos, stories, games and the cake, and the disco package adds lights, dance games and optional karaoke microphones. The team is just as busy at larger events. Shopping centres book roving artists for openings and holiday promotions, and schools, childcare centres, sporting clubs, pubs and festivals use them for family days. Magicians performing 30 to 45 minute shows, stilt walkers, jugglers, hula hoopers and fire twirlers can be arranged for bigger briefs. Every artist carries public liability insurance and a working with children check.

Performance Details

Artists bring their own paints, balloons, glitter, tables and props and set up shortly before the start. Larger groups may need more than one artist, especially for braiding and face painting. Giant bubbles work best outdoors in light wind, and UV painting needs a black light or disco setting.

How long do the glitter tattoos last?

Applied with cosmetic-grade glue on the arm, they usually last three to seven days if you avoid very hot water and scrubbing. Baby oil helps remove them.
