About Upper Level @ Coogee Wine Room
Coogee Wine Room is a restaurant and wine bar at 222 Coogee Bay Road, one block up from Coogee Beach. The kitchen, led by head chef Ken Yong, cooks Mediterranean food with a farm-to-fork approach, and the wine list runs past 500 bottles, including 31 wines poured by the glass, across more than 50 grape varieties. The list has been recognised several times over by the national Wine List of the Year awards. Functions happen upstairs, where there are two private rooms that can be booked separately or together as The Entire Upper Level. Taken as a whole, the floor seats 48 or holds 65 standing. The Upper Lounge Private Room, with lounge seating and a projector and screen, takes 18 seated or 25 standing, and the Upper Private Dining Room, with exposed brick and a long table, seats 30 or holds 40 standing and adds a PA and microphone. All the AV is included at no charge, as are printed menus, and decorators can get in early. Food is served as packages: a canapé menu at $60 per person, four-course shared menus at $75 and $88 per person, and an individually plated premium menu at $110 per person, with oysters and cheese or charcuterie boards as extras. Most groups pay for wine on consumption and pre-select a sparkling, two whites and two reds, though a set-price beverage package or individual bar tabs can be arranged. Bookings are held with a $30 per person pre-authorisation, and site visits are welcome.

What is the minimum spend for the whole upper level?
It is $3,000 for Tuesday to Thursday evenings, Saturday lunch and summer Sunday nights, and $5,500 for Friday and Saturday nights from 6 to 11pm.
How many guests fit upstairs?
The whole floor takes 48 seated or 65 standing. Booked separately, the lounge room holds 18 seated or 25 standing and the dining room 30 seated or 40 standing.
What AV is included?
A projector and screen come free in both rooms, and the dining room also has a PA and microphone at no cost.
How do drinks work?
Wine is usually charged on consumption, with a few bottles pre-selected for bigger groups. A fixed-price beverage package or individual bar tabs can be set up on request.
Are there extra charges or a deposit?
Bookings are secured with a $30 per person pre-authorisation, changeable up to 72 hours out. A 10% service charge applies Monday to Saturday, a 10% surcharge applies on Sundays, and cakeage is $3 per person.
