About Royal Oak Hotel
The Royal Oak Hotel has been pouring beers on the corner of Bay and Cooper Streets in Double Bay for around 150 years. Known locally as The Oak, it spreads across several levels, with a sports bar, a bistro, a busy rooftop bar and a string of smaller rooms upstairs. Edgecliff Station is a short walk away and there is street parking around the pub. Functions can take over almost any part of the building. Phil's Rooftop is the big one, open to the sky with heaters, misting fans and its own bar, holding 180 standing or 50 seated. The Garden Bar mixes covered and open-air seating with a private bar and a separate entry off Cooper Street, for 70 standing. Upstairs, Phil's Sunroom (60 standing) opens onto the rooftop through large sliding windows, the Private Dining Room looks down Bay Street (40 standing, 22 seated), the Safari Room has two Juliet balconies (40 standing), and Neon suits a small group of 15. A sectioned-off part of the Bistro takes 50 standing. Food runs from shared pizza slabs and a cheese and charcuterie station to canapé packages from $36 per person and set menus from $60 for two courses. Drinks can be a standard, premium or deluxe package of two to four hours, or a bar tab with a limit you set and can raise on the night. You can bring your own cake with no cakeage charge. The events manager can arrange extra AV for the Garden Bar, the Private Dining Room or an exclusive rooftop booking, plus a DJ with equipment for rooftop events.

How many guests can the Royal Oak Hotel hold for a function?
It depends on the area. Phil's Rooftop takes up to 180 standing or 50 seated, the Garden Bar 70 standing, Phil's Sunroom 60 and the Bistro area 50. Smaller rooms suit 10 to 40 guests.
What do function packages cost?
Canapé packages start at $36 per person for five pieces, rising to $48 for seven, with a 20-guest minimum. Set menus are $60 for two courses or $70 for three, and pizza slabs are $50 each.
Are drinks packages available?
Yes. The standard package runs $45 to $65 per person for two to four hours, premium is $55 to $75 and deluxe $72 to $92, all for 20 or more guests. A capped bar tab is the alternative.
Can we have a DJ?
For an exclusive booking of Phil's Rooftop, the pub can organise a DJ with equipment from $150 an hour for at least three hours. Security may be needed for large exclusive events or bookings with a DJ or live music.
Can I bring a birthday cake?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own cake and there is no cakeage fee.

Great spot was pumping. Pizza was good. But please please please clear tables that we sat at in 2 locations there from the 330pm function that were still there at 7.
