About The Palm Lounge @ The Cauliflower Hotel
The Cauliflower Hotel has traded on Botany Road in Waterloo since 1838, and today it is known for bistro classics, a sports bar, craft beer, trivia and live music. Above the pub is The Forgotten Cask, a rum and gin bar, and on its second level sits The Palm Lounge, one of several spaces the hotel's events team books out for private groups. The Palm Lounge holds up to 70 guests standing or 45 seated, with timber awnings and an urban fit-out, and it is offered as a semi-private room for functions and casual get-togethers. AV and a DJ booth are part of the room, and the hotel can add an in-house TV, a portable microphone and speaker, and a DJ system and controller for $100, with DJ hire on request. Bigger groups can take the whole rooftop exclusively for 50 seated or 90 standing, and smaller ones can use the Forgotten Cask cocktail bar or the rooftop garden terrace. Catering is ordered by the piece from a canapé list priced from $4 to $9, covering spring rolls, dumplings and arancini through to skewers, tacos, bao, sliders and Peking duck crepes, plus cheese, grazing and sushi platters from $129. The chefs will adapt dishes for dietary needs if told a week ahead. Drinks can go on a bar tab, with wristbands for your guests, or be charged as they are poured, and welcome drinks can be added on arrival. Catering is paid a week before, final details are due seven business days out, and a one-hour bump-in is included.

How many guests does The Palm Lounge hold?
Up to 70 standing or 45 seated. For larger events the whole rooftop can be hired exclusively for 50 seated or 90 standing, and the main bar and sports bar together take up to 140 standing.
What AV and music options are there?
The lounge has AV and a DJ booth. The hotel also offers an in-house TV and a portable microphone and speaker, a DJ system and controller for $100, and DJ hire on request. A signed DJ waiver is needed before any AV or DJ hire.
Can I bring my own birthday cake?
Yes. There is no charge to bring and serve your own cake, and staff can keep it in the cool room. If you would like it cut and served for you, a $50 cakeage fee applies.
How do drinks work for a function?
You can set up a bar tab, and the hotel can hand out wristbands to your group, or drinks are charged as consumed. Welcome drinks cost $10 per person for house wine or beer, $18 for a house cocktail and $20 for champagne.
What are the booking terms?
A booking stays tentative until a deposit or card pre-authorisation and a signed booking form are received. Catering is prepaid a week ahead, final details are due seven business days before, cancellations need seven days' written notice, and confetti isn't allowed.
