Elektrum AV Hire is a sound, lighting and visual equipment supplier based in Hillsdale, in Sydney's south-east. It caters to two kinds of customer: people hosting a private function who want to hire gear and run it themselves, and event organisers who want a production partner to plan, install and operate the equipment. The same team runs large-scale lighting and laser work, with past jobs including festival main stages, club and warehouse parties and weddings, so smaller hires benefit from that experience when you ask what your space needs. The speaker range is built around QSC and JBL powered boxes. It runs from a JBL EON715 with Bluetooth and a QSC K12.2 for smaller rooms through to QSC KW122 and KW153 tops, with KW118 and KW181 subwoofers for serious bass. You can book items individually or take a bundle: the audio package pairs two KW122 speakers with two KW118 subs, while the house party set adds a Pioneer XDJ all-in-one DJ system, two K12.2 speakers, LED pars, UV bars and a smoke machine. There are also club and outdoor DJ packages built on Pioneer CDJ and DJM decks with extra subs, strobes and haze. Beyond sound, the catalogue covers moving heads, lasers, CO2 guns, truss, projectors, TVs and LED screen walls. Bookings are made online. You choose the equipment and the hire dates, then either collect it or have it delivered, with the delivery fee confirmed once the booking is processed. Setup and pack-down can be added for a fee based on your location and the amount of gear. Like most hire companies, Elektrum asks for identification before handing over equipment and holds a bond until everything is returned and checked, and the team offers around-the-clock support if something goes wrong during your event.

What speakers can I hire from Elektrum?
The range covers a JBL EON715 Bluetooth speaker, QSC K12.2 speakers, QSC KW122 and KW153 PA speakers, and QSC KW118 and KW181 subwoofers. You can book them individually or as a bundle, such as the audio package of two KW122 tops with two KW118 subs.
How much does speaker hire cost?
Single speakers start from $60 for the JBL EON715, with the QSC K12.2 at $70 and larger tops and subs from $80 to $120. Bundles range from about $280 for a QSC speaker pack to $580 for the house party set and up to $1,000 for the outdoor DJ package. The minimum hire is one day, and longer hires are discounted.
Do they deliver and set up the equipment?
You can pick the gear up in Hillsdale or have it delivered, and the delivery cost is confirmed after your booking is processed. Setup and pack-down are optional extras priced on your location and how much equipment you hire. Delivery is to the ground floor of the building.
Is there a bond, and what ID do I need?
A $100 bond applies and is refunded once the equipment comes back and has been checked. You will also need to supply identification such as an Australian driver licence or other government photo ID, which Elektrum deletes within 90 days or sooner on request.
Can Elektrum handle a larger event or one outside Sydney?
Yes. Event organisers can book a full production service with planning, setup and on-site operation, including lighting, lasers and LED screens. Most jobs are in Sydney, but the team also covers surrounding regions and some interstate events by arrangement.
