About Sydney PA Hire

Sydney PA Hire is a sound and event equipment hire business based in Artarmon on Sydney's lower north shore. It was set up in 2010 by Lee, a former commercial accountant and long-time volunteer sound technician, and David, a guitarist and vocalist, and in 2025 it was bought by Julius Grafton, who has worked in live production since running light shows in 1973. The team says it has now looked after more than 2,000 events, including over 500 weddings, and it has a regional sister business, Orange PA Hire, for work west of Katoomba. For parties the headline item is karaoke. Karaoke Pack #1 runs on battery and includes two wired microphones, an Electro-Voice Everse speaker on a stand and an iPad on its own stand with access to about 50,000 songs, which needs an internet connection. Karaoke Pack #2 is built for bigger groups, with two Electro-Voice Evolve 30 column speakers, two wired microphones and a 55 inch screen so everyone can follow the lyrics. The same warehouse supplies speakers for every size of event. Party options range from a single Bose L1 Compact for about 40 guests to pairs of Yamaha speakers with LED dance lights and a microphone for around 80, plus a 1,000 watt Electro-Voice column and subwoofer when the music needs more bass. Battery-powered systems are a speciality, and there are portable Bose, QSC and Electro-Voice speakers with Bluetooth and microphone inputs for ceremonies and outdoor events. Wireless and wired microphones, projectors, TV screens, stages, drapes and lighting round out the range, and gear can be collected, delivered and set up, or run by a technician for the whole event.

Karaoke Pack #1 is from $239 and Karaoke Pack #2 with a 55 inch screen is from $750, with the exact price set by your hire dates through the online booking system. Party speaker packages are also available, wedding PA systems start from $99 for pickup, and a wired microphone can be added to a speaker hire for $22 or a speaker stand for $10. Delivery, set-up and staffed sound are quoted separately, and travel to Wollongong, Newcastle, the Central Coast or the Blue Mountains is quoted at a reduced rate.

Performance Details

Pre-booked pickups and returns run from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and 10am to 3pm on Sundays at Storage Works, Campbell Street, Artarmon, with visits by appointment. Each hire comes with the cables and adaptors needed to plug in a phone or laptop, and staff will walk you through the set-up. Delivery, set-up and fully crewed options are available around the clock across Sydney.
