About Peach Black Gallery
Peach Black Gallery is an artist-run space in Chippendale, opened in 2018 by painter Matteo Bernasconi and his partner Anna Griffiths, who produces concerts and events. Alongside exhibitions and live music, it has built a following for its life drawing, with club sessions on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings and a monthly tutored workshop for beginners. For hens parties, birthdays and anniversaries, the gallery can be booked exclusively. A tutor from the gallery warms the group up with quick, playful exercises, then a professional model holds a series of timed poses while everyone draws, with music and drinks along the way. You choose a male model, a female model or both, posing nude or clothed. Drawing boards and materials, a welcome glass of wine and flutes are provided, BYO costs nothing extra, and there is a fridge for food or a cake. Guests keep their drawings and can look through the artist's studio. The team building version starts with a lesson in the fundamentals led by Matteo, followed by a guided drawing session with a live model; around 75 minutes works well, and it can run at the gallery or at your workplace. The high-ceilinged room is surrounded by exhibited artwork, and Central and Redfern stations are both within walking distance.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a private life drawing party?
Private sessions are $390 for two people, $550 for groups of three to ten, and $55 a head for groups of eleven or more. Prices are listed excluding GST.
Can we choose the model?
Yes. Groups can ask for a male model, a female model or both, and choose whether the model poses nude or clothed.
Do we need to be able to draw?
No experience is needed. A tutor runs short warm-up exercises first and supports everyone through the timed poses, and you take your drawings home.
Can the gallery run a session at our office?
For team building, yes. The session can be held at the gallery or at your business, and around 75 minutes is the recommended length.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Private bookings include a glass of wine each, and BYO is allowed at no extra charge. Glassware is supplied and there is a fridge for food or a cake.
