About R&M Latin Dance
R&M Latin Dance is a salsa and bachata school run by Rhian Saunders and Mariano De Simone, who arrived in Sydney in 2023 and started the school that year. Between them they have around 30 years of dance experience, and they now teach several hundred students a year, mostly complete beginners, from a basement studio on Broadway in Chippendale. Their weekly six-week beginner courses run Monday to Thursday. For parties and events, the pair can be booked to teach the group some salsa or a short Latin routine, which works well for a hens party where nobody has danced before. Because both teachers demonstrate, one leading and one following, guests see each side of the partnership as they learn. Corporate and private events can book a beginner workshop, a salsa, bachata or Latin fusion performance, dance games to fill the dance floor, or a Latin DJ playing reggaeton, salsa and bachata. Event pricing is quoted on enquiry through the website's hire page. Couples and individuals can also book private lessons in salsa, bachata, merengue or a wedding dance, usually on Saturday afternoons, and a practice partner is supplied for solo students. The school also holds regular social dance nights, which give students somewhere to try out their new moves.
