About Aleksandra Dance
Aleksandra Dance is the business of a classically trained belly dancer who first learned the style at five while living in Iran, later worked in theatre in Poland and won medals across Europe. She now teaches weekly women's classes at the City of Sydney Creative Studios on Bathurst Street in Sydney CBD, and takes her group workshops out to hens parties, office events and private celebrations around Sydney. For groups, the format is a live performance followed by a hands-on lesson. The hens package opens with a 20 to 30 minute show in full costume, then a 30 to 45 minute workshop covering hip shimmies and body waves, with hip scarves for everyone and an optional short bride's dance filmed at the end. It is priced from $600 for four to eight people and from $900 for eight to 15, with larger groups quoted individually. Standalone one-hour workshops cost $70 per person for up to six people and $55 per person above that. Corporate options run from a $400 performance through to a $1,200 team-building package pairing a 30-minute show with a 30-minute guided workshop. No dance experience is needed, and the sessions are pitched at complete beginners. Aleksandra brings the music and speaker, and carries $30 million public liability insurance with a certificate available on request, which helps if your venue asks.
