About The Norfolk Room @ The Gidley
The Gidley is a moody basement steakhouse on the corner of King and Elizabeth Streets, run by Sydney hospitality group Liquid & Larder. Past the velvet banquettes of the main room, at the very back, is the Norfolk Room — a private dining room that most diners never notice. It seats up to 20 at a long table beneath a panoramic mural of palms and hills, with low lighting that keeps the old-world supper-club feel of the rest of the venue. The room has its own bar, which the team stocks with whatever wines, spirits or cocktails you choose; just send your selections three business days ahead. A 65-inch TV is on hand for presentations or streaming the game. The set menu is generous and built around The Gidley's signatures — a standing rib roast and a bone-in rib eye from the chargrill — and you can add oysters, scallops, the burger or the Spinalis. It's available for lunch or dinner. All guests must be 18 or over, including infants.
