About GrayNoise Photography
GrayNoise Photography is the studio of Sydney photographer Dan Gray, who set it up in 2003 after an earlier career as a web and multimedia designer. Headshots and editorial portraits are part of the mix, but events make up a large share of his work, for clients ranging from banks and insurers to universities and consultancies. When an event is too big for one person, or bookings overlap, he brings in a small group of photographers he trusts, so a larger crowd still gets consistent coverage. On the party side, GrayNoise covers work Christmas parties, company anniversaries, cocktail functions, product and store launches, red carpet events, awards nights and galas. You can ask for a hands-off candid style, posed social shots of guests and groups, or a blend of the two. Coverage can also take in behind-the-scenes moments, the styling and theming of the room, sponsor branding, and the food and drinks. Lighting is chosen to suit the room, from available light to on-camera or off-camera flash, and the off-camera setup is offered as an extra for media walls and award presentations. Standard events are booked for two to eight hours through the online quote tool, which prices by the number of photographers and hours, and every quote includes editing plus files sized for print and web. If you need images quickly, the quick-turnaround option has edited photos with you by 10am the next day. Most jobs are in Sydney, with interstate travel available for conferences and roadshows.
