About The Blade Den
The Blade Den is an axe throwing venue on Southwell Road in Oran Park, set up to give the Macarthur region an axe range of its own. It is a caged, multi-lane space with timber targets and long tables for groups, and it is pitched at birthdays, team building, date nights and anyone after a different sort of night out. Sessions start with a safety induction from one of the coaches, who then show the group how to throw and keep things moving with games and challenges. A one-hour session covers the basics and plenty of throws, while two hours gives a bigger group time for a proper competition. All equipment is supplied; guests just need enclosed shoes and should arrive 15 minutes early to sign the waiver. Throwers must be 11 or older, and a parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18. The venue does not sell alcohol at present, although the owners say they are working towards offering drinks after a session. Sunday to Thursday is by appointment from midday, while Friday and Saturday evenings take walk-ins as well as bookings. A 50 per cent deposit secures a booking, and concession cards for carers, veterans and seniors are accepted.

How much does axe throwing cost?
A one-hour session is $55 per person and a two-hour session is $80 per person. A non-refundable 50 per cent deposit is required to book.
How old do you have to be?
Throwers must be 11 or older. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.
Can we just turn up?
Walk-ins are accepted on Friday from 3pm and Saturday from 2pm. Sunday to Thursday sessions are by appointment between 12pm and 9pm.
What should we wear?
Enclosed shoes are required. Arrive 15 minutes before your session to fill in the waiver.
Can we have drinks?
Not at the moment, as the venue doesn't sell alcohol. The owners have said they are working towards serving drinks after sessions.
