About MANIAX Axe Throwing
MANIAX Sydney Inner West is the chain's Marrickville venue, on Jabez Street. The space is big: 17 lanes in total, 10 for groups and 7 for individuals, with capacity for as many as 350 throwers. A staff member starts every session with safety rules and coaching, then takes the group through a range of axes, some target games and a final tournament to crown the best thrower. You can walk in without a booking, and the venue has wheelchair access. For smaller groups there's the one-hour Viking Hour, or on weekday afternoons a 30-minute Express Viking taster. Groups of seven and up can pick from two-hour hosted packages. Urban Viking is just the throwing. Ragnar's Battle adds pizzas to share. Thor's Mighty Skal comes with a one-hour drinks package. The Ultimate Valhalla Feast combines pizzas, feast platters and drinks. A one-hour Ragnarok package is pitched at bucks and hens, there's a weekday team building option, and large events can take over the whole venue, priced on enquiry with a minimum spend. MANIAX holds a liquor licence, and the kitchen makes pizzas and giant beef ribs to go with craft beer, cocktails and the venue's own mead. Here, drinks only come out once the throwing is over, and you can't bring your own food or drink except water and a birthday cake. The minimum age is 11, under-18s need an adult with them, and everyone must wear closed-toe shoes. Marrickville, St Peters, Stanmore and Sydenham stations are all walkable, and there's limited street parking close by.

The Ragnarok bucks and hens package costs $59 per person for one hour. For groups of seven or more, the two hour Urban Viking costs $65 per person, Odin's Team Challenge costs $63 per person, Ragnar's Battle with pizzas costs $89 per person, Thor's Mighty Skal with a one hour drinks package costs $105 per person, and the Ultimate Valhalla Feast costs $139 per person. Full venue takeovers are quoted on request, with a minimum spend.
