The 14 battlefields range from a D-Day assault course and trench network to a Zombieland forest, and referees keep the games moving.

Working out numbers and budget:

Costs up front: there are no entry or gear hire fees, and each player pays a $25 deposit when booking that comes off their paintball pack.
Paintball packs: 500 paintballs cost $89, and a 300-paintball pack is available only when prepaid online.
How much to buy: most players get through 800 to 1,100 paintballs over two to three hours.
Weekends or weekdays: weekends have no minimum group size, while weekdays need at least 10 players.
Younger players: the standard minimum age is 12, with a junior program for ages 8 and up on lighter, low-impact gear.
