Sydney Jumping Castle Hire has been working Sydney birthday parties, school and church fetes, preschools and company functions for more than 15 years from its base in Doonside. The fleet is numbered and runs to well over 100 items: small indoor castles for toddlers, standard castles such as Blast Off, Jungle Jumps and Pirates Cove, and dozens of slide combos in medium, large and extra-large sizes, with themes from Bluey, Cocomelon and Mario to Frozen, Barbie, Jurassic World and the Marvel heroes. Every unit has its own page setting out its dimensions, the space it needs, whether it has a shower cover, the age range and how many children can be on it at once. Bigger events can add giant slides such as the Boomer, Aussie and Screamer slides, a series of long inflatable obstacle challenges, soccer darts, a basketball shoot-out and astro-ball, while the Bounce House combo is rated for adults as well as children, though never at the same time. Fairy floss, snow cone, popcorn and slushie machines and face painting are also on offer, and the fairy floss machine comes with someone to serve it. Home party prices depend on hire length: a small indoor castle is $350 for up to four hours, standard castles start at $400, medium combos at $430 and extra-large combos at around $600, with seven-hour and overnight rates listed as well, while business bookings are priced by the hour. Prices include delivery within 9km of Doonside, set-up, cleaning, pickup and certified crash mats, and every hire comes with trip-hazard guards, safety barriers around the blower, child-proof lead covers and circuit breakers. Crews arrive at least an hour before your start time, a responsible adult must supervise unless you pay for one of their staff, and parks and public spaces need council approval and staff supervision. The company holds $20 million public liability insurance.

What does a castle cost for a home party?
Residential prices are listed on each castle's page. The small indoor castles are $350 for up to four hours, $380 for seven hours or $570 overnight. Standard castles such as Blast Off start at $400, medium combos such as the Playhouse at $430 for four hours or $500 for seven, and the extra-large Big House combo is $600 for four hours or $900 overnight. Delivery is free within 9km of Doonside.
What extra charges can apply?
Delivery beyond 9km of Doonside costs $40 to $120 depending on distance. Weight bags for hard surfaces where pegs cannot be used and staff supervision are extra, 4 to 10 stairs cost $100 and 10 to 20 stairs $200 unless you help carry, a petrol generator is $150 per inflatable including fencing and fuel, and a set of seven crowd-control fences is $245. Public holiday surcharges and council fees for parks may also apply.
What if rain or strong wind is forecast?
They watch the forecast and talk it through with you the day before. If storms or high winds make it unsafe and you both agree to cancel before 2pm the day before, prepaid customers are refunded in full. When the forecast is uncertain, you can pay 35 per cent of the fee for them to load up and come the next day, though they will not set up if it is still unsafe. A wind meter is left with you, and the castle must be switched off during rain.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
No deposit is needed. Changes and cancellations are free until 3pm the day before the hire; after that, or if you cancel once the crew arrives, 50 per cent of the fee is charged. Home party customers can pay beforehand by bank transfer or card over the phone, or pay the driver by cash or card at set-up, while businesses pay before the event.
How much access and space do I need?
Most castles need an access path at least 90cm wide, and the larger slides and combos 1m or more. Castles weigh between 50kg and 200kg, so let them know about stairs or tight access and send photos if unsure. Each castle's page lists the space it needs; the medium Playhouse combo, for example, needs 7m by 5m with 3.6m of height.
