About Ash Jumping Castles

Ash Jumping Castles is a family business working out of Enfield that delivers inflatables across metropolitan Sydney. The kids' range is sorted by format: mini castles in 2.5m and 3m sizes for courtyards and small gardens, medium jumpers about 4m square, large castles that take up to around 15 children, closed combos netted on every side and built around a slide, and open-front combos that give parents a clear view in. Themes follow what children are watching, so the list runs from Bluey, Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig to Minecraft, Pokemon, Roblox, Sonic and Taylor Swift. Teenagers and adults get their own range of heavy-duty, double-stitched castles, including the Scooby Doo, Birthday Cake, Clown and Party Time disco jumpers, plus obstacle courses from the 9m Challenger to the two-part 15m Commander, the Rock Climber with its climbing wall and slide, a bungee run, a giant slide, two gladiator duels and a bouncing boxing ring. Sumo suits are the other big part of the business, in traditional, superhero, double and kids' versions, with an inflatable sumo arena for the full show. A generator, oversized boxing gloves or joust poles can be added to any booking. Every castle comes with sun and rain protection and a net across the entrance, and the crew delivers, sets up and packs down, usually arriving in the morning and always at least 30 minutes before the party starts. Most castles are hired for a full day of up to seven hours, overnight hire is available, and bookings are taken seven days a week between 6am and 10pm. A deposit is generally not needed, bookings can be changed or cancelled up to the day without a fee, and payment is made in cash on the day. Mini castles are $260, closed combos with a slide mostly $240 to $265, and the Dinosaur and Frozen 5 in 1 combos $325 and $350. Adult castles such as the Scooby Doo, Birthday Cake and Party Time jumpers cost $250 to $350. Obstacle courses are $375 for the 9m Challenger, $400 for the bungee run, $425 for the 9m Monster, $450 for the Adrenaline Booster, $475 for the 15m Commander and $495 for the Rock Climber. Most castles and courses are full-day hires of up to seven hours, and overnight hire may cost extra. Sumo suits are $250 for a traditional set or $200 with a castle, $225 for superhero suits, $295 for double suits and $200 for kids' superhero suits, with $50 off each when booked alongside a castle, and the inflatable arena package with suits is $395; a $200 bond applies to suits. A generator is $175, or $250 for a larger one that runs two blowers, and boxing gloves or joust poles are $60 each. Local hires have no delivery charge, and a small fee may apply further out.

Delivery, set-up and pack-down are included, with castles usually delivered early in the morning, always set up at least 30 minutes before the start, and collected in the evening or the next morning; a hire running past 7pm counts as overnight. Castles can go on grass, artificial grass, concrete or indoors, and the booking form asks about steps and slopes because castles are heavy and moved on a trolley. Allow a metre around the castle for the blower and entry, and an access path of about 1m to 1.3m depending on the unit. The castle only needs to be inflated while in use and refills in about 90 seconds. Most castles are enclosed with sun and rain protection and have a safety net at the entrance, though they are not fully waterproof. A person over 18 must supervise at all times. Each unit has its own safety certificate, castles are wiped down with a disinfectant mix before and after every hire, and the business holds $20 million public liability cover, with a certificate available on request. A 3m mini castle needs about 3.75m by 3.5m, and any steps or slopes should be noted on the booking form.

Are there castles and games for adults?

Yes. The adult castles are heavy duty and double stitched; the Clown combo, for example, takes up to 400kg, or roughly 10 to 12 adults at a time. The obstacle courses, bungee run and giant slide suit both kids and adults, and the traditional and superhero sumo suits are for ages 13 and up, with kids' suits for children from 6 to 12.

What happens if it rains?

They will usually still deliver unless the forecast is extremely wet and windy, and the decision to go ahead is left to you. Most castles have a roof that keeps off a passing shower, but none are fully waterproof. If you do decide to cancel, give as much notice as you can.
