About Jumping Castle Kings
Jumping Castle Kings is a family-owned hire business based in Neutral Bay that has been supplying castles and party extras around Sydney for more than 10 years. Its customers are mainly parents, childcare centres, schools and businesses, and the range centres on combo castles with a slide, obstacles and a basketball hoop, from compact 3m units to large 6m combos, plus a white indoor castle. Themes include Bluey, Paw Patrol, Cocomelon, Frozen, Encanto, Super Mario, Sonic, Spiderman and Mickey Mouse, and a Merry Christmas castle comes out for the festive season. Past the castles, the business runs walking water balls, clear sealed balls that let children walk, roll and float across an inflatable pool, which suit school festivals, shopping centre promotions and corporate fun days. It also hires slushie machines that can serve frozen cocktails for adult parties, plus popcorn and fairy floss machines, and books face painters, clowns, fairy entertainers and mascot characters such as Elmo, Dora, SpongeBob, Hello Kitty and Santa. Characters are 25 per cent cheaper when booked with a jumping castle. Prices are not listed online, so call or email for a quote. Castles can be hired seven days a week, including public holidays, and delivery, set-up and pack-down are part of every booking. Set-up and removal each take about 20 minutes, the crew needs a path at least 1m wide and a heads-up about steps, and castles can stay late or overnight if the area is well lit. How long can we keep the castle?
Castles can be booked for 4 hours, 8 hours or overnight, any day of the year including public holidays. As long as the area is well lit there is no set finishing time, and overnight hires can be arranged on request.
How do deposits and payment work?
A deposit of at least 30 per cent is paid three days before the hire, and the rest is due when the castle is set up. You can pay cash on delivery or by direct deposit. The deposit is lost if you cancel, but if the company calls off a booking because of strong wind or heavy rain, the deposit is refunded.
What space and surface does a castle need?
Castles can go on grass, concrete, asphalt or pavers, provided the ground is flat, level and free of sharp objects. Add about half a metre around the castle's size for pegs and the blower, keep it clear of power lines and overhanging trees, and make sure there is a power socket close by. The access path needs to be at least 1m wide, and steps should be mentioned when booking because castles weigh up to 170kg.
How many children can use a castle at once?
A 4.5m castle suits children from 3 to 14, with up to 12 on at a time, and a 6m castle up to 15. Medium castles hold up to 360kg and large ones up to 500kg, no single person over 100kg is allowed on, and an adult over 18 must supervise at all times.
What happens in wind or rain?
Every castle has a cover to shade children from sun and keep off rain, so play can usually continue. In strong wind or heavy rain the company may cancel for safety, in which case the deposit is refunded in full. If rain or lightning arrives during the party, everyone should get off and the blower should be switched off.
