Superheroes Inc. has been running children's parties in Sydney since 2002 and has clocked up more than 30,000 events. The company works from the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park, with entertainers based all over Sydney, and has more than 200 characters across themes such as superheroes, Avengers, Star Wars, Frozen, princesses, fairies, pirates, spies, ninjas, K-Pop Demon Hunters and Harry Potter. Costumes are made for the company rather than bought off the rack, and the entertainers are trained to entertain rather than babysit. Each show is designed around the theme, the venue, the group size and the ages of the kids. A superhero party runs the children through hero training and ends in a final battle where they save the day, pirates hunt for treasure and walk the plank, and the spy party has kids cracking codes to unmask a traitor. Face painting and balloon twisting can be added. Standard parties are priced by the number of characters and the length: one character costs $359 for 60 minutes and up to $519 for two hours, and packages go up to four characters. NERF and laser tag parties for up to 24 players start from $489 for 90 minutes. The team suggests one character for 60 minutes for about 15 children, 75 minutes for 20, and two characters for groups of 30 or more. If face painting is part of the plan, add 15 minutes so nobody misses out. Entertainers bring their own toys, games and gifts, so you only need to provide the space and the cake. The office checks in at least twice before the day, keeps a wet-weather plan, and on arrival the character likes to meet an adult first to agree on the grand entrance.
