About Super Little Scientists
Super Little Scientists is a science education business based in Carlingford that has been running programs for children since 2010. As well as school incursions and holiday programs, it runs science birthday parties for four to ten year olds, where two hosts lead the group through an hour of hands-on experiments using child-safe test tubes, pipettes and magnifying glasses. The aim is for the children to do the experiments themselves rather than watch a demonstration. Each party follows a theme. Chemical Reaction parties are about fizzing and colour changes, Slime Science has kids making their own slime, Bubble Science and Space Science cover what their names suggest, the Dinosaur theme includes fossil-making, and Catapult Science is about building and launching. Every child wears a real lab coat and safety goggles, and the booking comes with e-invitations to match the theme. You can choose a theme once the group has at least five children. The mobile party comes to your home or chosen venue for one hour of science and covers up to ten children, with more added per child. Travel beyond 20 km from the Carlingford base may cost extra. If you would rather not host, the company also runs parties at its own Carlingford venue, which adds 45 minutes of celebration time with a science backdrop and cake table set up for you. That option is $580 plus GST for up to ten children, and is worth weighing up against the mobile party if your home is short on space.
