About Bubble Soccer Hire

Bubble Soccer Hire is a mobile operator that brings inflatable bubble soccer to a location of your choice. Its original base is in Sydney, and it now also covers Brisbane and the Gold Coast. There is no venue to travel to: you pick an outdoor park, oval, reserve or field, or arrange an indoor space yourself, and the crew arrives with the equipment, marks out the field, runs the session and packs up afterwards. A standard booking is one coach with ten balls. Players wear the ball like a backpack, with the weight on shoulder straps and handles inside to steer, and adjustable straps that keep the player's head under the top of the ball. There are two sizes: small, lightweight balls for children up to about twelve, and larger balls for teenagers and adults. The coach starts with a demonstration of how to get in, land, roll over and get out, warms the group up outside the balls, then runs games such as Pac Man, free play, last person standing, bullrush, king of the hill and ten pin bowling, with drink breaks throughout. Kids' parties usually run 60 to 90 minutes, with 10 to 20 children recommended so players can swap every few minutes. Adult bookings for bucks parties, hens parties and birthdays run the same way with the larger balls. Corporate team building starts from a minimum of 90 minutes and 15 participants, and school and club events run from two hours. Grass gives the best landing, though artificial turf and other soft surfaces work, and indoor sessions are possible. Players take part at their own risk, as individual injury is not insured.

Extra balls are charged on top at $20 each on the one-hour booking, $25 on 1.5 hours, $30 on two hours and $40 on three hours. There may be a slight discount between weekdays and weekends depending on where and when the booking takes place. The inflatable field is no longer offered.

What surface do you need, and is anyone insured?

Grass is best, because it makes the games more fun and gives a soft landing. Artificial turf and other soft areas also work, and wood or polished concrete is possible though not ideal. Participants are not individually insured: as with any sport, you play at your own risk, and lost valuables or injuries are at your own expense.
