About The Local Hotel
The Local Hotel is a two-storey corner pub on South Terrace in South Fremantle, running a casual dining room, bars and a handful of boutique rooms upstairs. For private events it offers two greenery-filled spaces with a laid-back feel. The Garden Restaurant, also called the Distillers Lounge, is the more flexible of the two and works for 30 to 100 guests. Long timber tables, potted plants and skylights make it a good fit for a birthday dinner, an engagement or a long lunch. The Local Garage was once the pub's drive-through bottle shop. It is now a bar space dressed in plants and festoon lights under a retractable roof, set up for cocktail-style events of 70 to 100 people. Food is served cocktail style from a platter menu that covers gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan diets. When you book a space exclusively, the venue asks for one platter for every four guests. Drinks are charged on consumption. There are no drinks packages, but you can run a bar tab, offer a cash bar, or mix the two. The pub sits in a residential street with noise limits, so DJs and live music are not allowed in the function spaces. The pub does not take bookings for 18th or 21st birthdays.

Exclusive use of The Garden Restaurant, with its bar and dedicated staff, is $100 for each hour with a three-hour minimum, bookable any time from midday. The Local Garage costs $500 from 7pm until close, plus $100 for each extra hour.
Can a smaller group book without paying room hire?
Yes. Groups of 50 or fewer can reserve a private section of either space while sharing the room with other guests, and no room hire fee applies.
Can we have a DJ or band?
No. The pub is in a residential area with noise restrictions, so DJs and live music cannot be booked for the function spaces.
Do you host 18th or 21st birthdays?
No. The pub turns down 18th and 21st birthday bookings, though other birthdays, engagements and work parties are welcome.
