About Bayside Room @ Samphire Rottnest
Samphire Rottnest is a boutique beachfront hotel in the main settlement at Thomson Bay on Rottnest Island. Its events team runs functions across several indoor and outdoor spaces, and the Bayside Room is the main enclosed room among them. The room keeps its old limestone walls and high ceilings, with jarrah floorboards and big windows facing the ocean. Because it is fully enclosed, it works in any weather, and a private terrace outside gives guests somewhere to take a drink in the sea air. Measured at 239 square metres with the verandah, the room takes up to 240 for a cocktail party, 170 in conference style or 90 at long tables. An indoor bar next door can be added to the event, and the seating layout can be changed to suit. Food is built around seasonal produce. Cocktail packages start with four canapés for an hour, a larger package runs for two hours, and there is a shared long-table feasting menu for sit-down dinners, with live paella cooking available as an add-on. Drinks packages are arranged with the events team to suit the night. The room has a ceiling projector with a 110-inch screen, built-in speakers, roaming microphones and Wi-Fi, which suits speeches and slideshows as much as presentations. Guests can book rooms at the hotel and make a weekend of it, though that is optional. Island rules on flora, fauna and curfews apply to every event, and the team explains them when you plan.
