About Kidogo Arthouse

Kidogo Arthouse occupies a 19th-century limestone building on Bathers Beach in Fremantle. Through the year it runs art exhibitions, concerts and live music, and it is hired out for weddings, private parties and corporate events. A booking gives you the whole place to yourselves: the Large Gallery, the White Gallery, the oceanfront deck, the kitchen and the limestone courtyard. Only the back studio, a working space, is kept out of the hire. The Large Gallery has exposed beams and rustic timber floors, seating 70 to 90 for dinner or holding up to 130 cocktail style. The White Gallery joins it through an opening in the wall and suits up to 50, while the deck faces the Indian Ocean and takes up to 100. There is no in-house catering requirement. You can self-cater or bring in your own caterer, and the venue can pass on details of caterers, stylists and musicians once you have booked. You can supply your own alcohol, but Kidogo staff must serve it. Staff are charged by the hour, and an event coordinator can be added. Trestle tables, timber and metal chairs, vintage furniture and rustic styling pieces are free to use. Events end at 10:30pm; send an enquiry to check dates and book a tour.

Pricing

Venue hire is quoted per event based on the date, time of day and guest numbers. Groups of fewer than 26 guests and weddings held from Monday to Thursday are charged at a reduced rate.

Staff cost about $59.40 per hour each and an event coordinator about $88 per hour. A non-refundable $990 deposit confirms the booking, with the balance due three months out.

Food

There is no in-house catering requirement: you can self-cater or bring in an outside caterer, which can keep costs down. The building has a fully equipped kitchen for caterers to use, and the team can recommend trusted caterers after booking.

Beverages

You can bring your own alcohol, but it must be served by Kidogo staff, who are charged by the hour. Glassware can be hired at low cost if needed.

Availability

The venue can be hired for a full day, breakfast, lunch or dinner, with all events finishing at 10:30pm and pack-up straight after. A date can be held briefly until you visit; send an enquiry to check availability and book a tour.

Frequently asked questions

How many guests can Kidogo Arthouse hold?

Up to 130. The Large Gallery seats 70 to 90 for a sit-down meal or 130 for a cocktail event, the White Gallery suits up to 50 and the deck takes up to 100.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes. You can self-cater or use an outside caterer, and you can supply your own alcohol, though it must be served by Kidogo staff rather than self-served.

What are the music rules?

Mellow playlists can play on the deck until 8:30pm, after which music moves inside. Live bands and musicians perform in the Large Gallery only, and volume has to stay contained within the building.

What happens if the weather turns?

The Large Gallery is included in every booking, so the event can move indoors. The deck is the outdoor option for ceremonies, drinks and sunset views.

What does staffing cost and how is a booking secured?

Staff are about $59.40 per hour each and an event coordinator about $88 per hour, with higher rates on public holidays. Once details are confirmed, a non-refundable $990 deposit secures the date and the balance is due three months before the event.
